This private recreation centre designed primarily for judo training also provides fitness space for seniors in the neighborhood of Aldershot, in west Burlington. It includes regulation judo competition areas, spectator space, exercise room, change rooms and showers. In order to locate the building on this small urban site without letting the parking overpower the streetscape the parking area was located at the rear of the lot which is accessed through a covered drop off area convenient for senior""s. The building also incorporates the use of thermally efficient ICF formwork and natural cross ventilation for the main training areas.
